Reporting to and working closely with the CFO and senior management, this is a critical and highly visible role within THF. It is a broad and varied opportunity for an experienced Senior Actuary to lead the small Actuarial and Business Intelligence team to deliver on the full scope of actuarial and reporting requirements of the THF group to successfully deliver on its business strategy and regulatory requirements.
More specifically, the appointee will be:
Accountable for actuarial solutions that support the Strategic and Business Plans the THF group;
Providing actuarial support in the areas of pricing, financial projections, capital management, broader health cover, outstanding claim provisions (OSC) and other relevant reserving;
Supporting decision-making by providing meaningful analytical reports and insights in the areas of product, segment, channel and business profitability; product development, forecasting, membership analysis and the competitive environment;
Advising the Board and senior management on the actuarial aspects of PHI industry reforms, new accounting, solvency and capital adequacy standards, including regulatory updates; and
Supporting the external Appointed Actuary, as required.
Will be a fully qualified Actuary (FIAA or equivalent) with a minimum of 10 years actuarial experience, ideally within Private Health insurance;
Will have advanced modelling and forecasting experience with strong actuarial knowledge across all key technical domains;
Will have a proven ability to communicate and translate difficult concepts effectively across all areas of the business and to a diverse range of stakeholders; and
